I don’t hate her, I feel she was trying to do her best to give the life she thought Rose deserved and the life both of them were use to. I think she loved Rose and wanted what was best for her and herself. I do think she was somewhat selfish because she ignored what Rose wanted for her life but back in that time women were seen and not heard. They were to be married, give birth, and take care of their husbands and children. But, no, I do not hate Ruth, I just strongly disagree with her logic and forcing her daughter in to a life she didn’t want, even if she was TRYING to do what she thought was best.
